Meet the Robinsons came out on March 30th, 2006 and is running strong in theaters. There are 2 versions. The regular movie, and one in Disney Digital 3D!

This is not the 3D you remember as a kid! The new high-tech projection system uses polarized glasses that are clear, not RED and BLUE/GREEN like the old days.

The image is CLEAR and CRISP, and the depth is AMAZING! It actually doesn't hurt your eyes, and watching a full movie with this technology is very easy and enjoyable to watch.

The movie is ultimately about FAMILY and HOPE! It's charming, fun, good for kids, and entertaining for adults. I truly believe this is one of the best films we have done in a while. It was directed by my good friend and super talented director, Steve Anderson

I worked on Disney's Meet the Robinsons from midyear 2004 through March 2007. My AWESOME crew and I worked our tails off to create over 700 shots of animated effects wizardry. What does that mean? Let me explain..

Effects Animation: Anything and everything on screen that MOVES that is not a character. We define this into to parts at Disney. PROP animation and Environmental animation.

Prop Animation: Animation of any rigid object whether self driven or driven by a character. Examples of self driven props are vehicles (cars, planes, boats, spaceships, tumbling rocks, blowing trees, HERDS of animals/insects/robots, and much more!

Environmental Animation: Animation of any natural or supernatural phenomenon found in nature or the universe. Examples include rain/snow, snow, flowing water, oceans, fire/explosions, tornados/hurricanes, gooey stuff, smoke/dust, avalanches, PIXIE DUST, plasma, or anything absolutely unusual that the mind can conjure.

So what did my awesome crew and I do!?!?
Here's a breakdown of a few of the awesome effects in Meet the Robinsons. There's no way to list them all, but this should give a good idea of what to look out for! In order of appearance..

Rain, Rain, Rain! Splashes, drips, cascading sheets of wet wet water!
Peanut butter and jelly. Watch out, it's flying everywhere!
Lewis' inventions exploding, and the sparks and torch he uses to create them!
The Memory Scanner! (All of the animation of it, and the video screen on it)
Science Fair volcanic goo, fire ants, sparks, and sprinklers!
WHIRLYBIRDS! (On the roof, ha ha, yes, we even do those!)
The Time Machine (space ship) animation, thrusters, exhaust trails and the fun cloaking and decloaking.
Time travel effects! (Watch for them all through the movie!)
That gorgeous lake Wilbur and Lewis fly over on their way to the city in the future!
All the cool bubbles people fly around in, and the zillions of ships flying around the city.
Inflatable pop-up building!
The time machine crash with dirt, smoke, and lots of grass! (We even animated the dashboard!)
All the animated little panels on the walls inside the garage of the Robinons House.
Shimmering water around the frog bar, and the flies in the frog's vending machines.
Tumbling miniature time machines crashing out of closet! (Harder than it looks!)
Magic Paint that instantly paints paintings and Fireworks!!
Meatball Fight!! (The meatballs, sauce splatters, and cannon blasts)
Crashing glass from dinosaur jumping through window!
Pizza dough used to battle dinosaur, and all the dirt the dino scratches and kicks up!
All the cool video effects on the cyber binoculars, and any video screen in the movie.
Spinning 3D Hologram
At this point, things get pretty intense..
The swirling ring of clouds and lightning that form above the kids
The wicked effect of Wilbur disintegrating and streaming in strands of light up into the sky.
When Wilbur escapes the house in his fixed time machine and makes it to the new polluted world outside, we created much of the world you see.
Thousands of industrial buildings, thousands of columns of smoke & fire, smoggy atmosphere, sulfur creek, billowing skies, hot stamping machines flowing with lava and spewing sparks, steam jets, and electrical bolts.
The end of this sequence also featured exploding bowler hats, and swarms of hundreds of them crawling on a building.
Disintegrating Doris.
Thousands of magical bubbles that restore the bad dirty city to a clean bright future!
All of the colorful animating devices in grown-up Wilbur's (Cornelieus') laboratory.
Skywriting.
And we and where we started. Rain.. Rain running down the canopy of the time machine, and rain falling everywhere. Just like this movie, effects everywhere. Beginning to end.
